S -1 Tim 6:17-19 (NASB)
17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works , to be generous and ready to share,19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.

O -   Paul is giving Timothy a reminder to preach to his congregation the need to continue to focus on doing good things and not focus on their wealth or provision.  Many will come to the saving knowledge of Christ, but like the parable of the seed , some will be choked out for concerns about riches and troubles of this world.   Jesus said it would be very difficult for the rich man to inherit the kingdom of heaven; he did not say impossible though, and through God all things are possible.  For the rich man his answer is Jesus and a life dedicated to using the riches God has endowed him with to do good, and share so that many will know God's love and provision.

A -   The application for me is a reminder that though I feel at times choked out by the troubles of this world, I must continue to remain generous in heart and spirit.   The troubles of this world is where the treasures of this world live,  the hope of eternity is where the treasures of Jesus live in heaven.

P - Dear heavenly Father thank you for today's devotion, may it be sealed to my heart.
