Lean on the Lord, truth not my own understanding

S - Prov 3-5-6.nasb
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

O - This is verse is a reminder that even Solomon who probably at some point thought he was  a pretty smart guy and with all his success even may have been tempted to attribute his success to himself,  who despite that make the proclamation that not to lean on your own understanding, but to trust your heart to the Lord.

A - This application for me today is especially helpful in a season of loss and doubt.  I have lost confidence in myself and have felt uncertain that I am following God's plans due to circumstances that feel heavy and draining.  I can try and evaluate the circumstances with my own understanding and make conclusions based on my gut feelings, but in the end I need to lean on the Lord and not my understanding.  Daily He speaks into my life through His word, in times of prayer , or the still small whisper of the Holy Spirit through out the day.  That is enough, I must trust in the Lord.

P - Dear heavenly Father, thank you for today's word of wisdom, correction, and encouragement all at the same time.  I pray you multiply days like today where I have trusted in you and simply continue to step out in faith and trust in you.  To stay focused on your truth and not my minds deception.  In Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
