S - Galatians 6: 6-10+ (NASB)
6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9 Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. 10 So then, [c]while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
O - Paul here is exhorting the church at Galatia to not get discouraged in doing good, but rather while the opportunity permits to do good then do good especially to those in the church. We are to take courage because God is with us and is on our side. Now we are to sow what is from the spirit of God that he has given us and not of the flesh. Sowing of the Spirit reaps eternal life.
A - The application for me is to sow from the spirit that is in me so I might reap a harvest of eternal life, for those in my family and church family. I have been sowing from my flesh but it does not produce eternal life, rather I need to pray with the Holy Spirit guiding me that I might reap from the spirit in me.
P - Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your spirit within me. Help me to be guided by and produce from your spirit in me the abundance you have. I pray that out of this spirit you would bless my wife and kids, my church family, and community of believers in my life. I pray all this in Jesus Christ' name, Amen
